Meet the new Partners and Senior Associate of Živković Samardžić Law office
Živković Samardžić, one of the Serbia’s leading law firms, today announced the promotion of two Partners as well as one Senior Associate, effective January 1, 2019. Ana Popović in the Employment Department and Kruna Savović in the Technology, Media and Telecommunication Department are promoted to Partners, while Ivan Ljubisavljević, from the Dispute Resolution Department is promoted to Senior Associate.
As of January, 1st 2019, Ana Popović and Kruna Savović will take over as Partner of Živković Samardžić. Ivan Ljubisavljević is also joining to this promotion in order to further improve cooperation between clients as Senior Associate.

Ana Popović entered the legal market in Serbia in 2012, after graduating at the University of Belgrade, Faculty Of Law in 2011 and after joining Živković Samardžić same year. Now, in her new role as Partner, she will be involved in clients initiatives concentrated on the improvement of employment processes, effectiveness and change management. Ana has several years of professional experience in labour consulting business. She managed projects and served as an expert in the field of management change, labour process optimization and the design and implementation of employer branding strategies. Her clients are the largest companies operating in Serbia. During her professional career, she specializes in Employment and Immigration Law and Employment Litigation and was a member of the Employment Law Alliance (ELA), the world’s largest network of labor, employment and immigration lawyers. Moreover, Ana is an experienced family lawyer and will keep providing services on family law issues to Živković Samardžić private clientele.
Kruna Savović began working with Živković Samardžić in 2008 as a Trainee Attorney, after graduating at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law, earlier in the same year. She specializes in Media Law and Intellectual Property. From the very beginning of her professional career, Kruna Savović has actively contributed to the initiatives advocating the struggle for a better society through participation in various humanitarian, cultural, philanthropic and socially-responsible campaigns and projects. Kruna is a trusted advisor to a number of national broadcast, print and on-line media and their associations. She is also an experienced media and intellectual property litigator. During her career, as Head Živković Samardžić Media Litigation practice, she led and participates in media strategy projects aimed at increasing the efficiency of the Živković Samardžić firm operations. She is one of key people responsible for the implementation of the strategies connected to Technology, Media and Telecommunications.
Prior to joining Law Office Živković Samardžić in 2016, Ivan Ljubisavljević used to work for several international companies from the financial industry. Ivan is specialized in Dispute Resolution and Regulatory compliance with emphasis on Financial Services sector. Previously, Ivan was an in-house lawyer with the major B2B services provider and later he worked as a legal and compliance officer with the major international insurance company. He graduated at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law in 2011. In this newly created role, Ivan will be responsible for the implementation of projects and cases of strategic importance for the firm from the area of civil litigation, banking and finance litigation in particular. Furthermore, his task will be to upgrade the level of external firm reputation in the legal network’s and between clients in region.

Živković Samardžić joins the Global Legal Blockchain Consortium
Živković Samardžić has joined the Global Legal Blockchain Consortium (GLBC) as its first law firm based in Serbia.
GLBC is a global network of key stakeholders in the legal industry, working toward the standardization, governance, and application of blockchain and related technologies in global legal systems. It is comprised of over 100 organizations, including large companies, law firms, software companies, and universities that have joined together to develop standards to govern the use of blockchain technology in the business of law.

Živković Samardžić announces promotion of two Partners and two Senior Associates
Živković Samardžić, one of the Serbia’s leading law firms, announces the promotion of two Partners as well as two Senior Associates, effective January 1, 2018. Marko Trišić in the Dispute Resolution Department and Igor Živkovski in the Corporate and M&A Department are promoted to Partners, while Miloš Stojković in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Department and Sava Pavlović in the Corporate and M&A Department are promoted to Senior Associates.
Marko Trišić, Dispute Resolution Partner and a Deputy Head of Živković Samardžić’s Dispute Resolution practice, top-ranked practice in Chambers Europe for the fourth year running and in the Legal 500 Europe. Marko graduated at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law in 2010 and is with Živković Samardžić since 2012, after two years at another reputable law firm in Belgrade. He specializes in Commercial law and Dispute Resolution and was recognized as the ‘next generation lawyer’ by the Legal 500 Europe 2017 for his work on complex commercial disputes and high profile business litigation cases.
Igor Živkovski, Corporate and M&A Partner, graduated at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law in 2010 and is with Živković Samardžić since 2013, after six months internship at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and two years with another reputable law firm in Belgrade. He specializes in Corporate and M&A and is an experienced tax lawyer. Since 2016 Igor holds the position of Vice President of the Foreign Investors Council’s Legal Committee, a body advocating for improvement of the overall legal framework on behalf of Council’s 130 members with investments of EUR 34 billion and 97,500 employees in Serbia.
Miloš Stojković, Technology, Media and Telecommunications Senior Associate, graduated at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law in 2007 and is with Živković Samardžić since 2012, after a four-year stint with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society, where he was a Legal Advisor and a Head of Regulatory Department in the Sector for Electronic Communications. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, one of the most important and most influential non-governmental organizations in Serbia and a Head of the AmCham Digital Economy Platform’s Regulatory Stream, AmCham Serbia’s body focused on initiating and supporting regulatory changes enabling smooth transition of Serbian economy towards digital technologies.
Sava Pavlović, Corporate and M&A Senior Associate, joined Živković Samardžić in 2013, after graduating at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law earlier in the same year. While at the University, he was a member of the 2011 Monroe E. Price International Media Moot Court Competition overall wining team. Before joining Živković Samardžić Sava was an intern at the Directorate for Digital Agenda. With Živković Samardžić he specializes in Corporate and M&A and advises clients on a broad array of complex corporate and transactional issues.

Nebojša Samardžić elected vice chairman of the Bar Association of Serbia Disciplinary Tribunal
The Bar Association of Serbia has elected Nebojša Samardžić, Živković Samardžić Senior Partner, to serve as a vice chairman of the Bar Association of Serbia Disciplinary Tribunal.

The Bar Association of Serbia Disciplinary Tribunal is a body consisting a chairman, vice chairman and 16 judges, all elected by the Assembly of the Bar Association of Serbia, to consider disciplinary cases against members of the Bar Association, attorneys and trainee attorneys, on appeals following first instance decisions of disciplinary tribunals of the regional bar associations.
A range of sanctions available to the disciplinary tribunal in relation to its determinations is ranging from admonitions and fines to disbarring of the lawyers.
“I am very honored and, at the same time, certain that the elections we had, not only for the disciplinary tribunal posts, but even more for the president and vice president of the Bar, will allow us to move forward from the problems we had within our profession recently,“ Samardžić said.
Živković Samardžić client wins Award for Journalistic Courage
Živković Samardžić, one of the Serbia’s leading full-service independent law firms, participates proudly in a project implemented since 2011 by the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia and currently supported by the Civil Rights Defenders, aiming to provide journalists with legal assistance in cases that raise important points concerning freedom of expression and safeguarding or advancing media freedoms.
Dragana Sotirovski, journalist and a head of public service broadcaster’s RTS bureau in Niš, southern Serbia, who is one of the project’s beneficiaries and whom Živković Samardžić lawyers represent in the proceedings following her reporting on nepotism and abuses in the special hospital for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of nonspecific pulmonary diseases “Sokobanja”, was awarded the Milan Pantić Award for Journalistic Courage. The award is named after Serbian journalist who was killed on 11 June 2001, following numerous threats received for articles he had written on crimes and trials from Jagodina, city he lived in.
