Bio

Vesna joined Živković Samardžić in 2009 after a diverse national and international career.

She is a member of the IP and the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications practice groups, representing major media, their associations, production companies, and telecom operators, specializing in intellectual property, electronic commerce, media and broadcasting, telecommunications, commercial law, banking, and arbitration. In this role, she advises commercial and public service media, and their associations, as well as banks and cement, gas, and oil companies.

Vesna’s previous working experience has contributed to her better comprehension of clients’ needs, especially in the field of banking law, insurance, IT, and electronic commerce. Before she joined Živković Samardžić, she worked as a supervisor in the Compliance Division in one of the largest banking groups in Serbia and controlled adherence of all important acts of the bank with relevant Serbian regulations, monitored the process of the prevention of money laundering and terrorism financing, performed internal control of adherence of relevant bank departments’ practice with regulations in force.

In the Institute of Comparative Law, Vesna was a research associate writing articles and comparative analysis, coordinating and supporting various projects. She was a member of working groups drafting laws on arbitration, pharmaceutical activity, and electronic commerce. As a Serbian delegate, she participated in the drafting of the Convention on Electronic Contracts of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. She was elected Vice Chairwoman of that Commission in New York in 2006.

She was engaged in various projects organised by the European Commission, Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and GIZ regarding the reform of the judiciary, parliamentary voting and elections, and real estate reform. She also participated as an expert supervisor for the European Integration Office of Serbia.

Vesna is a member of several professional organisations and a translator of a number of books and articles. She is a sworn court interpreter for the English language.
