Foreign Investors Council (FIC), an independent business association of the leading foreign investors that are present in Serbia, launched a new event – FIC Insight, a presentation of selected important new legislation to interested FIC members. This is an additional service to FIC members and platform for exchanging knowledge, delivered by a professional in a tackled area.
The first event was held on January 29 and was devoted to the Company Law and the Law on the Centralised Records of Beneficial Owners, two issues of high importance for members, both amended in December 2019. Around 50 members attended the event.
At the seminar, Igor Živkovski, Živković Samardžić Corporate and M&A Partner and FIC Legal Committee President, made a presentation with a focus on a new financial instrument – the right to acquire a company’s own share, acquisition method – reservation of a company’s own share, the benefits of the new financial instrument, so far functioning of the Centralised Records of Beneficial Owners and the expected effects of the adopted amendments. The presentation was followed by an interactive discussion with participants of the seminar.
