Igor Živkovski Authored Articles on Transportation in Serbia and Montenegro in CEE Legal Matters Magazine

Igor Živkovski, Živković Samardžić Corporate and M&A Partner’s articles titled Recent Developments in the Field of Transportation in Serbia and The Current Status of Montenegro’s Transportation Sector, were published in the CEE Legal Matters magazine’s January issue.

The article titled Recent Developments in the Field of Transportation in Serbia reflects Igor’s conviction that Serbia has always been recognized as a point of utmost importance in terms of transportation. This requires constant improvement in transportation conditions and compliance with European Union regulations. In order to meet these requirements, the General Master Plan for Transport in Serbia (TMP) was adopted in 2009, providing the guidelines and plans for each transportation sector until 2027. The TMP is also the platform for current and future transportation-related projects, irrespective of the funding modality. Igor points out that the improvement of transportation infrastructure and the applicable regulatory framework will contribute to positioning Serbia as a regional leader in this field in the near future.

In the article titled The Current Status of Montenegro’s Transportation Sector, Igor states that Montenegro’s sector of transportation has been in the transformation process over the years, with the main goal to harmonize its infrastructure and services with European Union regulations. Transportation Development Strategy of Montenegro for period 2019-2035 (Strategy) was adopted to regulate the guidelines and plans for future projects as well as to present the current state of transportation sector in Montenegro. Having in mind that the transportation sector is one of the most important factors for a country’s progress, Igor concludes that developing an efficient transportation system is necessary for the ensuring both economic and social prosperity in Montenegro.
