Igor Živkovski, Živković Samardžić Corporate and M&A Partner, has been appointed lecturer at the Academy of Legal Profession of the Bar Association of Serbia, as one of the youngest ever selected for this position.
Academy of Legal Profession was established in 2012 by the Bar Association of Serbia as a special body responsible for the continuous professional training of attorneys at law, law trainees, graduate lawyers and employees of law offices and law partnerships, for the improvement of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills of attorneys, necessary for professional, independent, autonomous, effective and ethical legal profession, the specialization of attorneys at law and the issuance of certificates of specialization in a particular area of law and the legal profession.
An attorney at law who meets one of the following criteria can be appointed lecturer: (i) has earned doctorate degree in law, (ii) has authored a book, a monograph, a commentary on a law, a handbook, scientific papers in the field of law, (iii) has lectured at the Judicial Academy, faculty of law, or at professional legal seminars, or (iv) has been recognized as an expert in a particular area of law. Exceptionally, lecturers can become experts chosen among judges and prosecutors who are lecturers at the Judicial Academy or are distinguished experts in a particular area of law. Lecturers are appointed by the decision of the Managing Board of the Bar Association of Serbia, based on the proposal of the Academy’s Program Council.

Igor Živkovski graduated as the first graduated student of the generation at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law in June 2010, completed LL.M. (in 2012) and specialized studies in tax advisory with distinction (in 2012) at his alma mater. He has been practicing law since 2010 and joined Živković Samardžić in 2013, after a six-month internship at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague and two years with another reputable law firm in Belgrade. Also, Igor serves as the President of the Legal Committee of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC).
