Forum Media, Serbian subsidiary of international publishing company Forum Media Group, hosted a seminar on the topic “Practical Implementation of the Law on Centralised Records of Beneficial Owners and New Rulebooks”.
Seminar consisted of presentation made by Igor Živkovski, Živković Samardžić Corporate and M&A Partner. The presentation focused on the establishment, content, basis of recording and the manner of operation of the Centralised Records of Beneficial Owners of legal persons and other entities registered in the Republic of Serbia, as well as other matters of importance for recording the beneficial owners. Obligations of the Registered Entities and criminal offence and misdemeanour introduced by the Law on Centralised Records of Beneficial Owners were also discussed. Presentation was followed by interactive discussion with participants of the seminar.
“The ratio for enacting the Law on Centralised Records of Beneficial Owners is clear since the transparency is becoming more and more important in the modern globalized world because of terrorism and money laundering. However, it is possible that introduction of such obligation will slow down incorporation of new business companies in Serbia and turn away some prospective investors”, said Igor Živkovski.
